Logging And Troubleshooting

Learn how to access the Extender log files and the troubleshooting actions required when running an extender.

Default location of log files

The default log location is %ProgramData%\SnowSoftware\Extender\Logs.

Log fileDescription
extender-[year]-[month]-[date].logDefault location to get the Extender service logs.
extenderconfig-[year]-[month]-[date].logDefault location to get the Extender configurator(UI) logs.
extendersetup-[year]-[month]-[date].logDefault location to get the Extender setup installer logs.

Troubleshooting

The details about the failed operations are shown in the log files of the Extender. Error messages are either logged as Warning or Error, based on their severity. If you require more details on troubleshooting, then set the Log level in the extender configurator to Debug.
